Driver Hit and Killed by Passing Vehicle after Getting Out of His Car on Highway 180
FRESNO, CA (November 11, 2019) – A man was killed after being struck by a vehicle Monday evening in Fresno, authorities said.
The fatal incident happened just before 10:00 p.m. on Highway 180 near Highway 41.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the man had been traveling eastbound on the highway, when he crashed his vehicle into the center divider.
The driver exited the disabled vehicle and was struck by a passing sedan. As a result, he suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The Fresno County Coroner’s Office did not release his identity pending family notification.
That incident led to another collision involving two other vehicles.
Authorities temporarily closed the highway while they investigated the crash.
