Man Killed after Struck by Vehicle at Watt Avenue and Whitney Avenue [ARDEN-ARCADE, CA]

Deadly Pedestrian Accident on Watt Avenue in Arden-Arcade

 
ARDEN-ARCADE, CA (August 18, 2019) – A vehicle struck and killed a man Sunday evening in the Arden-Arcade area, CHP officials said.
 
The crash happened around 9:21 p.m. at the intersection of Watt Avenue and Whitney Avenue. According to the CHP, the man stepped out onto the roadways when he was hit by an unknown vehicle. He was using a walker to assist him.
 
First responders tried to resuscitate the man, but he was declared dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the vehicle, 23-year-old Tristan Sparkman, remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
Officers determined Sparkman was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
 
No arrests were made at this time. Further investigation is underway.
