BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 23, 2022) – Tuesday morning, a man died in a hit-and-run accident on Weedpatch Highway near Kerrnita Road.
 
The incident happened at around 3:20 a.m. on Weedpatch Highway, south of Kerrnita Road.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, an unidentified southbound vehicle struck a male pedestrian as they walked in the southbound traffic for still unknown reasons. Then, the suspect’s vehicle fled the scene without stopping.
 
Moreover, responders confirmed that the victim succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
 
Furthermore, the incident closed Weedpatch Highway for a couple of hours but has long since reopened.
