Man Killed in Accident on Belmont Avenue and Palm Avenue [Fresno, CA]

1 Dead in Fresno Crash on Belmont Avenue

 
FRESNO, CA (August 25, 2020) – Friday morning, a man died in an accident on Belmont Avenue in northwest Fresno.
 
According to officers, a Buick failed to yield at a red light about 12:30 a.m. on Belmont Avenue and Palm Avenue.
 
When the authorities attempted to stop the driver, he fled north on Palm Avenue.
 
Afterward, officers located the Buick on fire near Palm Avenue and Ashlan Avenue. Officials added that the Buick collided with a Mitsubishi.
 
First responders freed the Buick driver and pulled him the vehicle to administer CPR. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
 
“We did, however, discover that the suspect did have a firearm on his body. Again, we’re looking into that, still in the investigative stages to find out the reason for that,” CHP Officer Mike Salas revealed
 
The CHP added that the driver was a man in his mid-30s.
 
Meanwhile, the Mitsubishi driver sustained minor injuries in the collision.
