Speeding Car Overturns on Highway 101 in Santa Rosa Killing the Driver and Injuring 3 Children
SANTA ROSA, CA (December 7, 2019) – A 23-year-old man was killed and three boys were seriously injured following a rollover crash late Saturday evening in Sonoma County.
The crash happened just before 11:00 p.m. on Highway 101 near Todd Road.
According to witnesses, a Ford Mustang was speeding and passing traffic in the rain. The driver lost control, spun out and crossed the road to the right shoulder.
The car then overturned and hit a tree, the CHP said. As a result, the driver suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
A 13-year-old boy in the car is in critical condition, a 12-year-old boy suffered moderate injuries and an 11-year-old boy suffered major injuries. All were taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, according to the CHP.
No identifying information is being released at this time. The crash is still under investigation.
