68-Year-Old Elk Grove Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash on Grant Line Road
Elk Grove, CA (July 8, 2021) – Wednesday night, a 68-year-old man from Elk Grove died and his 11-year-old passenger sustained severe injuries after their motorcycle crashed with a vehicle on Grant Line Road and Richert Lane.
The fatal crash in Elk Grove happened at around 8:21 p.m. on July 7.
The California Highway Patrol said the vehicle was traveling southbound on Grant Line Road behind the motorcycle and the two collided for unknown reasons.
As a result, the motorcycle driver and his 11-year-old passenger were transported to a hospital with severe injuries. The driver then died at the hospital.
Moreover, motorcycle helmets were found at the scene, but it is unclear whether the riders were wearing them.
Meanwhile, the 18-year-old man driving the vehicle remained uninjured and cooperated with the authorities. He was later released.
CHP has determined that drugs and alcohol were not a factor.
Further investigation to determine the cause of the crash is ongoing.
