High-Speed Police Chase Leads to Accident near Olive Avenue
FRESNO, CA (December 9, 2019) – A man suffered injuries after a police chase incident led to a road crash on Garfield Avenue on Monday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Olive Avenue just after 11:30 PM.
Reports showed that the high-speed chase started on Olive Avenue near Valentine Avenue after a driver avoided the police and sped up to 95 miles per hour. The suspect lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a power pole, knocking it over.
The driver suffered minor injuries and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Deputies said the suspect was on probation and driving with a suspended license. He was charged with failing to yield. A female passenger was also inside the vehicle but was uninjured and released.
