Man Chased Ball and Struck at the 1900 block of Morena Boulevard
PALM SPRINGS, CA (June 23, 2018) – A man was critically injured in a pedestrian collision on N Indian Canyon Drive, Saturday night.
PSPD Officers arrived at the scene after receiving a report about a traffic collision at around 9:16 PM. A male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the 1100 block of N Indian Canyon Drive, and the initial investigation revealed that a GMC SUV was driving southbound when the crash happened. It was found that the pedestrian was outside a crosswalk and was walking westbound across N Indian Canyon Drive when he was struck.
The victim sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The male driver of the GMC SUV was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation.
The PSPD Traffic Unit was involved in the investigation. Thus far, authorities do not consider drugs or alcohol to be involved in the collision.
Northbound and southbound lanes on N Indian Canyon between Tachevah Drive and Mel Avenue needed to be shut down to traffic for several hours after the collision. Anyone who has more information about the crash us urged to call the PSPD Traffic Unit at (760) 323-8125.
