Man Chased Ball and Struck at the 1900 block of Morena Boulevard
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 22, 2018) – A man was seriously injured in a pedestrian collision on Morena Boulevard Friday night when he went after a ball into the street and was struck by a car.
Police received a report about the collision at around 7:00 PM at the 1900 block of Morena Boulevard, according to the San Diego Police Department. The 26-year-old male victim was chasing after a bouncing a basketball on the sidewalk and into the street when he was struck by the car.
The car was identified as a Ford Escape with a male driver, and it was driving northbound on Morena Boulevard when it hit the man. The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
Police are still investigating the collision.
