Man Critical in Pedestrian Accident on Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura
Ventura, CA (January 8, 2021) – Thursday afternoon, a 62-year-old Bakersfield man sustained severe injuries in a pedestrian accident on Pacific Coast Highway near Mondos.
The crash happened shortly after 12:30 p.m. on January 7.
Reportedly, the pedestrian was walking on Pacific Coast Highway in an unknown direction when he was hit by the Volkswagen.
The pedestrian sustained severe injuries. Several citizens performed CPR before the man was transported to Ventura County Medical Center in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the 48-year-old Santa Paula man, driving his 2012 Volkswagen Passat, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Moreover, the driver was taken to the same hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The Pacific Coast Highway accident remains under investigation by the CHP’s Ventura office.
