Male Pedestrian Hospitalized after Collision with Vehicle near Washington Square Park
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (July 21, 2018) – A man was injured late Saturday evening following a pedestrian accident on Columbus Avenue.
As per reports, the collision took place shortly before midnight in the area of Union Street and Columbus Avenue. A 33-year-old man was crossing near Washington Square Park when a gray Honda CRV struck him.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital after suffering non-life-threatening injuries. His identity, city of residence, and current medical condition were not immediately available. Meanwhile, the woman driving the CRV remained at the scene and was cooperative with officials during their investigation.
An initial investigation suggests that the eastbound CRV entered the intersection on a green light. It was not immediately known whether the pedestrian was in a crosswalk at the time of the crash.
Police confirmed that no arrest had been made in connection with the collision. Investigators continue to work on determining the cause of the accident and other possible contributing factors. No additional information has been released to the public at this time.
