Elderly Man Hospitalized after Encinitas Pedestrian Accident near 11th Street

 
ENCINITAS, CA (September 24, 2019) — A man suffered injuries in a pedestrian accident near 11th Street and Rancho Santa Fe Road Monday morning.
 
The San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies said a pickup truck hit the pedestrian at about 6:45 a.m. The injured party was a man believed to be in his late 60s.
 
Emergency responders transported the pedestrian to a hospital with serious injuries. However, the pickup driver stayed at the scene. In addition, the authorities said the driver cooperated with the deputies.
 
Meantime, further investigation is ongoing as to what caused the accident.
