Motorcyclist Hospitalized after Crash at 140th Way Southeast near Maplewood Golf Course
RENTON, WA (June 27, 2018) – On Wednesday afternoon, a man was injured in what was described as a serious motorcycle accident on Highway 169. His identity and place of residence were not immediately released to the public.
Renton and Bellevue Police responded to the scene of the crash around 2:00 PM, in the area of SR 169 and 140th Way Southeast, across from the Maplewood Golf Course.
Renton Fire officials stated that the motorcyclist was thrown over 100 feet during the crash. The unidentified motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries and was transported to the Harborview Medical Center. There is no update on his current medical condition.
Police officials closed southbound lanes of the highway and shut down the intersection with 140th Way SE. Motorists had to take alternative routes for several hours while authorities conducted their investigation and crews cleaned up the scene.
No additional information has been disclosed to the public as RPD Traffic continues to investigate the incident.
