34-Year-Old Man Injured in Traffic Crash on Home Avenue [San Diego, CA]

1 Person Hospitalized in San Diego Auto Accident on Home Avenue

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 7, 2023) – Sunday morning, a 34-year-old man sustained injuries in a traffic crash on Home Avenue.
 
The incident happened at around 2:31 a.m. at the 4100 block of Home Avenue.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, a westbound 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan SUV veered to the left for still unknown reasons. Then, it jumped the center median. Then, the vehicle crossed into the eastbound lanes. Afterward, it struck a fire hydrant and a cinder block wall before colliding with a parked 2003 Honda Accord.
 
Moreover, responders transported the 34-year-old male driver of the Volkswagen to a hospital. The driver sustained an open fracture to his left ankle, facial fractures, and a brain bleed.
 
Meanwhile, officials asked anyone with information about the crash to call the traffic unit or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
 
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
