Pedestrian Severely Injured after Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Crash
LOS ANGELES, CA (June 5, 2019) – A man sustained serious injuries following a hit-and-run accident in Los Angeles area on Sunday, May 19.
According to a Los Angeles Police Department news release, a dark blue Honda Accord struck the victim crossing Hollywood Boulevard. It happened near Vermont Avenue at around 11:25 p.m.
The man told a local news source that he tried to get his friend’s SUV across the street. However, a car pulled out of a nearby gas station and struck him.
The man went over the hood, over the windshield, then over the roof. After that, he went into the air and landed on the ground. His friend thought that he was dead.
After the incident, the driver fled from the scene without stopping to help the injured individual, according to LAPD.
Paramedics rushed to the scene and transported the man with severe injuries.
More than two weeks after the incident, the man wore a knee brace on his left leg. He was walking with the aid of crutches.
The driver is still at large. Police released the surveillance footage with the woman’s face in hope that the public can help them track her down.
She’s described by LAPD as a white adult female at least 30 years old. She has dark brown hair and brown eyes. She’s roughly between 5-foot-2 and 5-foot-4 and weighs around 130 to 140 pounds.
