BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 15, 2020) – On Monday morning, a man suffered injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Monterey Street.
 
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, officers responded after receiving a report of a hit-and-run crash.
 
When they arrived at Monterey Street and Inyo Street, they located a man lying on the road with major injuries.
 
Responders took him to Kern Medical for treatment of life-threatening injuries. At this time, the hospital announced that the man was in critical condition.
 
Meanwhile, the department revealed that the injured man rode an off-road motorcycle southbound on Inyo Street. However, as he tried to cross Monterey Street, an eastbound vehicle hit him.
 
Then, the vehicle immediately fled the scene.
 
The department added that the suspect vehicle is probably an older small pickup, like a Datsun or an unknown color sedan.
 
Later on, authorities arrested 48-year-old Joseph Ciocatto for the Bakersfield hit and run.
