Injuries Reported in San Diego Accident on Leghorn Avenue and Skyline Drive
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 22, 2022) – Sunday, an 80-year-old man suffered injuries in a crash on Leghorn Avenue and Skyline Drive.
The initial incident occurred when a driver of a 2011 black Toyota Yaris backed out of his driveway. Then, he hit his neighbor’s wall at 677 Leghorn Avenue and continued driving north.
Eventually, the man didn’t stop at a stop sign at Leghorn Avenue and Skyline Drive. As a result, he crashed into a westbound vehicle on Skyline Drive. Then, the driver went north on Leghorn Avenue.
“The vehicle impacted an embankment and cinderblock wall as the road curved at 200 Leghorn Avenue,” an officer said.
“The male sustained a fractured left femur, multiple internal injuries with serious bleeding, left elbow dislocation or deformity, lacerations to his head, and possible re- fracture of a prior pelvic fracture.”
Officers confirmed that the 80-year-old male driver sustained life-threatening injuries.
