Hit-And-Run Driver Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Collision Near La Vere Drive
LONG BEACH, CA (September 16, 2019) – A man in his 90s was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Willow Street on Monday evening. The elderly man was only identified as a Long Beach resident.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near La Vere Drive at approximately 9:30 PM. Based on a report, the elderly was walking northbound in an unmarked crosswalk across Willow Street when he was struck by a white Toyota Tacoma truck traveling westbound on the same road.
Paramedics the man to a hospital, where he died due to severe injuries.
The Long Beach Police Department confirmed that the vehicle did not stop at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing to identify and locate the suspect.
