Male Pedestrian Killed in Collision with Truck near Sims Metal Management
SAN JOSE, CA (July 19, 2018) – A man was killed Thursday evening after he was struck by a dump truck on Monterey Highway.
As per reports, the deadly collision took place shortly before 2:30 PM in the 1900 block of Monterey Highway. A man was seen pushing a shopping cart at the Sims Metal Management facility. For unknown reasons, he fell to the ground and was run over by a dump truck.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and attempted to resuscitate the severely injured victim. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld, pending notification of his family.
The truck operator remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigators. Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as possible contributing factors.
