Fatal Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Crash on 5 Freeway in French Camp

 
FRENCH CAMP, CA (November 24, 2019) – A man was fatally struck by multiple vehicles late Saturday evening in French Camp.
 
The crash happened along the southbound lanes of 5 Freeway, just south of the French Camp Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the unidentified man was walking on the freeway when an unknown car struck him. That vehicle did not stop.
 
Seconds later, the pedestrian was hit several more times by oncoming traffic. He was found dead when authorities arrived.
 
CHP officials closed all southbound lanes of French Camp Road for a short period of time while they documented the incident.
 
The crash is still under investigation and it is unknown whether drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors.
