44-Year-Old Sonora Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle near Truckenmiller Road

 
SONORA, CA (July 10, 2018) – A man was killed late Tuesday evening following a pedestrian collision on Mono Way.
 
As per reports, the deadly collision took place shortly before midnight near Truckenmiller Road. A white 2008 Toyota Prius, driven by a 30-year-old Tuolumne resident, was heading east when he struck the unidentified victim.
 
The man, only identified as a 44-year-old Sonora man, was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by the medical staff. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
 
The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigators. Authorities believe that drugs and alcohol were not involved in the fatal crash. An investigation is being handled by the Sonora Police Department to learn the cause of the collision and to determine possible contributing factors.
 
No further details have been disclosed to the public at this time.
