Man Fatally Injured in Interstate 20 Collision [Arlington, TX]

Arlington, TX (July 11, 2024) – A man was fatally injured following an Interstate 20 collision early Monday morning.

It was about 12:39 a.m. when the authorities responded to the accident on the eastbound freeway near E. Loop 820.

Troopers believe a Buick Lucerne was eastbound on the highway when it swerved and struck a road construction barricade. As a result, the driver lost control of the vehicle and traveled across all traffic lanes.

Afterward, the vehicle struck a concrete barrier on the right side of the freeway. The front passenger door of the vehicle opened, and the male passenger fell onto the road.

The man was then struck by multiple vehicles and died at the scene, while the sedan driver was rushed to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Officers said none of the drivers who struck the pedestrian are facing criminal charges.

The authorities are investigating this fatal collision.
