Man Dies in Pedestrian Accident on S King Street [Bakersfield, CA]

Bakersfield, CA (October 18, 2024) – A man was fatally injured following a pedestrian accident on S King Street Wednesday evening.

It was about 7:29 p.m. when the fatal traffic accident happened at the Union Cemetery on Potomac Avenue.

Troopers said a green pick-up truck was traveling south when it struck a pedestrian outside of a crosswalk.

The man sustained major injuries and was killed at the crash scene.

Meanwhile, the pick-up truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Troopers said unsafe speed or impairment were not factors in the incident.
