Man Fatally Struck on Interstate 280
San Jose, CA (February 26, 2022) – On Friday, a man lost his life in an Interstate 280 hit-and-run collision.
Officers received the crash report at about 12:15 a.m. on the freeway’s southbound lanes, north of McLaughlin Avenue.
Police said that the driver of an unidentified vehicle struck the victim and fled the scene.
Unfortunately, the victim lost his life at the accident scene. Officers said he was walking in the traffic lanes when the crash occurred.
The authorities withheld his identity pending notification of next of kin.
Moreover, officers are investigating if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this fatal collision.
