1 Dead in Sutter County Bicycle Accident on Bear River Drive and Swetzer Road
SUTTER COUNTY, CA (April 9, 2023) – Saturday, a Loomis man died in a tragic bicycle crash on Bear River Road.
According to reports, a 59-year-old man rode east on Bear River Drive, west of Swetzer Road. Then, a 2007 to 2014 charcoal gray GMC Sierra or Yukon hit the man at an unknown speed.
However, the driver fled the crash scene and didn’t render aid to the victim.
Then, a 911 worker found the man on the road by a nearby worker.
Moreover, responders took the man to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Also, the CHP confirmed that the suspect vehicle should have damage to the right side fog light, right mirror, and right front body damage.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
