Hesperia, CA (April 08, 2021) – On Wednesday, a 57-year-old man lost his life in a deadly hit-and-run crash on Locust Avenue.
 
The fatal accident happened at about 8:53 p.m. north of Mauna Loa Street.
 
Reports said the pedestrian was walking in the roadway when he was struck by an unknown vehicle. However, the involved driver immediately fled the scene after the incident.
 
Officers pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
 
Furthermore, the San Bernardino County Coroner’s office described the victim as a Hispanic male adult. They withheld his identity pending notification to the next of kin.
 
Officers closed Locust Avenue from Mauna Loa Street to Pendleton Street for several hours while deputies from the Hesperia Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) investigated the scene.
 
Similarly, officers said the driver and the involved vehicle have not been located or identified.
