Man Dies in Bicycle Crash on Strathern Street [North Hollywood, CA]

Hit-and-Run Driver Involved in Fatal Bicycle Collision near Bellingham Avenue

 
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA (October 7, 2018) – A man died in a bicycle crash on Strathern Street, late Sunday evening. The victim was only identified as a 45-year-old man.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 8:30 PM, near Bellingham Avenue.
 
A report from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section said that a dark, possibly gray SUV traveling east on Strathern Street struck the bicyclist in the designated bicycle lane. The vehicle stopped for a few seconds as the victim lay on the ground before continuing east on Strathern Street.
 
The bicyclist was taken to a hospital, where he later died due to severe injuries. His name and place of residence were not released pending notification of next of kin.
 
Officials offered up to $25,000 in reward for information leading to an the arrest of the hit-and-run driver.
