55-Year-Old Cupertino Resident Involved in Tragic Pedestrian Crash on Maryann Drive
Santa Clara, CA (July 30, 2023) On Friday evening, an auto-pedestrian accident on Homestead Road led to the death of an 85-year-old man.
According to the Santa Clara police, the tragic pedestrian crash happened around 9 p.m. at the intersection with Maryann Drive.
Reports say that a westbound Toyota pickup fatally struck the 85-year-old male pedestrian crossing on a crosswalk.
First responders arrived at the scene and attempted life-saving measures on the man, however, despite the attempts, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the Toyota driver, identified as a 55-year-old resident of Cupertino, stayed at the scene and cooperated with officials. Authorities say that impairment is not a factor in the crash.
