64-Year-Old Oceanside Man Killed in Vista Two-Car Crash on Highway 76
VISTA, CA (September 4, 2019) – A 64-year-old Oceanside man died after a two-car crash on Highway 76 on Monday, September 2.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 3:30 a.m.
CHP said the man, driving a Nissan Sentra, tried turning from westbound Highway 76 onto E. Vista Way when his car crashed with a Jeep Wrangler moving east.
The 64-year-old man died at the scene.
The Jeep’s 34-year-old driver complained of pain. There were no other people involved in the crash.
CHP stated that the Medical Examiner’s office would find out the man’s sobriety at the time of the incident. The driver of the Jeep was not intoxicated, CHP said.
The crash closed eastbound lanes of the highway for about two hours during the investigation. Lanes have since reopened.
The investigation into the inciident is ongoing.
