1 Killed and 1 Hospitalized in Ramona Auto Accident on State Route 78
RAMONA, CA (September 16, 2021) – Wednesday night, a man died in a solo crash on State Route 78.
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 8:00 p.m. on State Route 78.
Reports revealed that a Chevrolet 1500 pickup lost control. Then, it veered towards the north side of the road and crashed down an embankment. The force of the crash ejected the driver from the vehicle, CHP public affairs Officer Travis Garrow said.
Furthermore, responders pronounced the male driver dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, firefighters rushed to the scene and extricated a passenger trapped inside the vehicle. Then, authorities transported the 32-year-old passenger to Palomar Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
