45-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash in Oxnard on Saviers Road
OXNARD, CA (July 12, 2019) – One person suffered fatal injuries following a pedestrian accident on Saviers Road early Monday morning.
According to the Oxnard Police Department, a vehicle struck the man while he was crossing the street at Saviers Road near Thomas Avenue at around 12:52 a.m.
Police described the victim as a 45-year-old Filipino man from Oxnard. They rushed him to Ventura County Medical Center where he died of his injuries.
The driver of the grey Scion xB, a 26-year-old also from Oxnard, stayed on scene and cooperated with the authorities. Officers believe that alcohol is not a factor.
Witnesses said that the vehicle drove through a green light. The pedestrian had walked against a red light when the vehicle hit him, police stated.
