EMERYVILLE, CA (September 9, 2019) — A man was fatally hurt after a pedestrian accident on 80 Freeway on Friday, September 6.
 
The pedestrian crash happened shortly before 4:30 a.m.
 
Officers initially received a report of someone sitting in the center divider around 15 minutes before the person was struck.
 
 
CHP issued a SigAlert for the crash and requested motorists to use alternate routes.
 
Officers shut down the freeway near the Powell Street exit for about an hour. All westbound lanes of 80 Freeway reopened just after 5:30 a.m.
