WEST COVINA, CA (August 19, 2021) – Wednesday morning, a man died in a motorcycle crash on Glendora and Merced Avenue.
 
According to CHP spokesman Officer Rodrigo Jimenez, the incident happened at around 1:10 a.m. Moreover, it occurred at the intersection of Glendora and Merced avenues.
 
Reports revealed that officers spotted a Triumph motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed. Thus, officers started chasing the motorcycle that refused to pull over. However, they lost sight of it on southbound Glendora Avenue near Vine Avenue.
 
Furthermore, at around 1:10 a.m., the motorcycle ran a red light at Glendora and Merced avenues. Then, it collided with a westbound Toyota Camry. Afterward, the force of the crash ejected the motorcyclist from the motorcycle.
 
Moreover, officials confirmed that the motorcyclist, a 34-year-old La Puente man, died in the crash.
 
Meanwhile, responders transported the driver of the Camry, a 35-year-old West Covina woman, and her 40-year-old male passenger to a hospital with minor injuries.
 
The incident remains under investigation.
