1 Killed in San Diego Pedestrian Accident on Waring Road and Interstate 8
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 28, 2022) – Sunday afternoon, a man died in a pedestrian crash on Waring Road and Interstate 8.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Jesse Matias, the incident happened at around 3:15 p.m. Moreover, it occurred on the Waring Road on-ramp to west Interstate 8.
Reports revealed that a white Mercedes-Benz sedan attempted to brake to avoid hitting a male pedestrian. However, a white Chevrolet SUV rear-ended the Benz during the process. Then, the force of the crash pushed the SUV to overturn and struck the pedestrian.
Moreover, responders rushed the 57-year-old male pedestrian to a hospital where he later died. Also, the SUV driver sustained minor injuries in the incident while the female driver of the Benz suffered no injuries.
Meanwhile, the incident remains under investigation.
