Edgar Ruiz Involved in Fatal Kern County Pedestrian Accident on Highway 166 near Interstate 5
KERN COUNTY, CA (March 8, 2022) – Early Sunday morning, a 64-year-old man died in a pedestrian crash on Highway 166 near Interstate 5.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 2:30 a.m. on Highway 166 near Interstate 5.
Reports revealed that an eastbound Kia struck a 64-year-old male pedestrian walking in the eastbound lanes of the highway.
Moreover, responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Furthermore, the Kia driver, 28-year-old Edgar Ruiz, sustained no injuries in the incident.
Meanwhile, the incident closed Highway 166 for about three hours.
The incident remains under investigation.
