SONOMA VALLEY, CA (September 17, 2022) – Monday afternoon, a man died in a head-on crash on Highway 12 near Nuns Canyon Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 2:34 p.m. Also, the collision occurred on Highway 12 near Nuns Canyon Road.
 
Reports revealed that a Mercedes sedan veered towards the oncoming traffic for still unknown reasons. Afterward, it collided head-on with a Subaru Outback. Then, the force of the crash pushed the Subaru to crash and roll over.
 
Moreover, responders pronounced the Subaru driver dead at the scene. Also, paramedics transported a passenger of the Subaru to Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries. Then, officials confirmed that the Mercedes driver sustained major injuries and required hospitalization.
 
Furthermore, the collision closed Highway 12 between Arnold Drive and Dunbar Road but has long since reopened.
 
Meanwhile, the incident remained under investigation.
