Man Fatally Hurt after Thousand Palms Big Rig Accident on Ramon Road
THOUSAND PALMS, CA (September 12, 2019) – A man died after a big rig crash on Ramon Road at around 10:45 p.m on Tuesday, September 10.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the 56-year-old Yucca Valley man drove west at a high speed in a 2017 Nissan Sentra. It’s not yet clear why, but the driver moved to the right of the road. Then he collided into the trailer of a 2019 big rig parked west of Robert Road with its hazard lights activated.
The big rig’s driver was asleep in his compartment when the accident happened. He was not injured.
The Nissan’s driver died at the scene. His identity was withheld pending notification of his loved ones.
Investigators stated that he was not wearing his seat belt. They do not believe that drugs and alcohol played a role in the crash.
