1 Killed in King County Traffic Incident on Dairy Avenue near Salem Avenue
KING COUNTY, CA (November 16, 2021) – Saturday morning, a man died in a big rig crash on Dairy Avenue near Salem Avenue.
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 8:00 a.m. Moreover, it occurred on Dairy Avenue near Salem Avenue.
Reports revealed that a Freightliner semi-truck collided with a Caterpillar backhoe as it worked on the area. Then, it drove along the shoulder of Dairy Avenue and onto the roadway. The force of the crash pushed the caterpillar to roll over, ejecting the driver in the process.
Moments later, a trash truck struck the caterpillar and the big rig.
Moreover, responders pronounced the 74-year-old male driver of the Caterpillar dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported the 35-year-old semi-truck driver to Kaweah Health Medical Center with minor injuries. The trash truck driver sustained no injuries in the crash.
Furthermore, the incident remains under investigation.
