Man Critically Injured in Truck Accident on West 6th Street near Broadway [Los Angeles, CA]

Man Arrested for Randomly Pushing Man under Truck in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, CA (December 10, 2018) – A man suffered major injuries after he was randomly pushed under the wheels of a truck on Wednesday, December 5.

Dramatic surveillance video from the area caught the details of the attack.

At first, the suspect is seen sitting on the bench on the sidewalk observing people pass by at around 10 a.m. in the 300 block of West 6th Street near South Broadway. Then he jumped toward one woman and scared her before he sat back.

However, as the next passerby approaches, a man in a suit, the suspect jumps off the bench and pushes the man into the street right as a box truck is approaching. The truck driver slammed on the brakes to avoid running over the victim, but he’s still caught under the front wheel.

The victim sustained a collapsed lung and broken bones and was in critical condition at a local medical center.

Authorities described the suspect as a white male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds and wearing a lime green hoodie.

The suspect was arrested because the attack was caught on video. Firefighters saw the video and recognized the suspect less than an hour after the incident. They found him near Hill Street and Third Street in downtown and called 911.

The suspect was taken into custody shortly after he was found. He was reported as combative and did not have any identification on him.

The suspect is expected to face a charge of attempted murder. Witnesses stated that they believe he is homeless.
