Man Injured in Oceanside Solo-Car Crash
OCEANSIDE, CA (February 12, 2019) – A 37-year-old man was seriously hurt when he lost control of his car on and crashed into a tree on Friday, February 8.
According to Oceanside Police Sgt. Rick Davis, the accident occurred just before 2:10 a.m. on Melrose Drive between Meadowbrook Drive and Sagewood Drive.
A Subaru Impreza sedan driven by the 37-year-old man was traveling northbound on Melrose Drive at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle and collided into a tree, Davis stated.
Paramedics responded and found the victim unconscious with a serious head injury, Davis said.
He was brought to a hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition, Sgt. Nick Nunez stated. An update on the victim’s condition was not immediately available.
Alcohol was believed to have played a role in the incident, Nunez said.
