Male Pedestrian in Critical Condition after Collision at 16th and Mission Streets

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (July 7, 2018) – A man was critically injured Saturday evening following a pedestrian crash on 16th Street.
As per reports, the collision took place at about 9:45 PM. A red sedan attempted to turn right from 16th street onto Mission Street at full speed when it struck a pedestrian waiting in front of a bus shelter. The impact sent the man airborne before landing onto the roadway.
Bystanders rushed to help the injured victim, who was not breathing and unresponsive at first. A witness attempted to administer life-saving efforts after feeling the victim’s pulse. That was when medics arrived to transport the pedestrian to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. His identity and place of residence were not immediately available.
The driver of the red sedan remained at the scene and was cooperative with police officials. No arrests were made, and the cause of the collision remains under investigation at this time.
