1 Hurt in Victorville Hit-and-Run Crash on First Avenue
VICTORVILLE, CA (August 30, 2020) – Saturday night, a man suffered critical injuries in a bicycle accident on First Avenue.
The incident occurred on August 29th just before 7:00 p.m. on First Avenue between Jasmine Street and Silica Drive in Victorville.
Upon the arrival of the Victorville Fire, they dispatched a helicopter to land at Desert Valley Hospital to take the bicyclist to a trauma center.
“I was at the scene, in my mom’s apartment facing the street where the man was hit. Then, I heard a large bang, which sounded like two vehicles colliding (it was that loud). I ran out of my mom’s apartment because I knew it was an accident,” a witness revealed.
“A young tall and thin black man was already out of the vehicle and a slim young black girl got out of the passenger seat. The male was standing with the guys and us for a short time and the girl in the meantime got into the car and moved the car around the corner on Jasmine,” the witness added.
Moreover, the witness revealed that the male went into the gray van and escaped the crash scene with the female driver. According to the witness, the car was a “smokey gray” van, and not a black SUV as previously said.
Meanwhile, the authorities described the bicyclist as a 74-year-old Asian male adult.
Furthermore, the authorities dispatched the Sheriff’s helicopter to search the area for a matching car.
The perverse actions of a reckless driver can increase the likelihood of traffic collisions. If you are a bicyclist or a driver, pay close attention to those around you. Also, always keep a considerable distance from others just in case harm is near.
