Pedestrian in Critical Condition after Hit-and-Run Crash Involving 4 Vehicles on Brundage Lane
BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 17, 2019) – A man suffered critical injuries after being struck by multiple vehicles late Sunday afternoon in Bakersfield.
The crash happened around 5:35 p.m., in the 400 block of Brundage Lane, just east of Union Avenue. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, an unidentified man crossed the street in a marked crosswalk. After that, an unidentified vehicle struck the victim.
The male pedestrian fell in the eastbound lanes of Brundage Lane where three additional vehicles also struck him.
Paramedics later rushed the pedestrian to a hospital where he was listed in critical condition. However, there has been no update on his current condition.
In addition, three of the vehicles involved fled the scene. However, the fourth driver stayed and cooperated with police.
It is currently unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were factors in the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call Bakersfield police at 661-327-7111.
