Pedestrian in Critical Condition After Hit by Vehicle in Escondido
ESCONDIDO, CA (August 23, 2019) – A pedestrian accident on Midway Drive Wednesday morning left a 48-year-old man with severe injuries.
The police said the incident occurred at about 6:45 a.m. A 2006 Nissan Titan from eastbound Valley Parkway was turning right onto Midway Drive when it struck the pedestrian crossing the street.
The paramedics transported the pedestrian to Palomar Medical Center in critical condition. Whether the 25-year-old driver of the Nissan or the pedestrian was at fault was not immediately clear.
The officers do not believe that intoxication was a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
