Man Arrested after Disastrous DUI Crash on Interstate 5 and Calgrove Boulevard [Canyon County, CA]

Injuries Reported in Canyon Country Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 5 and Calgrove Boulevard

CANYON COUNTRY, CA (September 17, 2024) – Sunday afternoon, a man was arrested after a disastrous DUI crash on Interstate 5 and Calgrove Boulevard.

The incident happened at about 1:50 p.m. on the northbound side of Interstate 5, south of Calgrove Boulevard.

Officer Josh Greengard, spokesperson for the CHP Newhall-area station, reported that officers determined the driver of a Volkswagen sedan was under the influence of alcohol, resulting in his arrest. Due to the injuries suffered by others involved, the driver was booked for felony DUI, according to Greengard. 

Saadullah Sheikh, spokesperson for the L.A. County Fire Department, confirmed that no one was transported from the scene of the collision. The suspect was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and remains in custody at the time of this report.
