Man Arrested after Pedestrian Crash on Highway 3 near Hilltop Store [Poulsbo, WA]

Injuries Reported in Poulsbo Hit-and-Run Accident on Highway 3 near Hilltop Store

 
POULSBO, WA (March 1, 2023) – Monday night, authorities arrested a man after a pedestrian crash on Highway 3 near Hilltop Store.
 
According to the sheriff’s office, the incident began around 6:30 p.m. on Highway 3 near Hilltop Store.
 
Reports said that a 48-year-old woman was walking toward a trash can outside of the Hilltop Store on Highway 3. Then, the driver of a Lexus appeared to deliberately speed toward her, pinning her between his car and the wall of the gas station.
 
Subsequently, he then backed up and speed off. When responders arrived, they treated the woman for leg injuries.
 
Moreover, the sheriff’s office said a man also told officers that shortly before 6:30 p.m. he was walking along Highway 3. Then, a Lexus drove toward him as he walked on the shoulder.
 
Afterward, the man said that he yelled at the Lexus driver who then made a U-turn and sped toward the man. Luckily, the male pedestrian managed to jump into a ditch and avoid being hit.
 
Finally, the authorities later arrested the suspect after he illegally drove onto Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
 
KCSO said the man is also suspected to be involved in a hit-and-run on I-5 in Tacoma.
 
At this time, further details about the incident remained undisclosed. Once additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
