CHANDLER, AZ (May 5, 2022) – Tuesday, authorities arrested a man after a pursuit crash near Chandler Boulevard and Dobson Road.
The incident began when police responded to a parking lot near Chandler Boulevard and Dobson Road. According to reports, a man passed out in the driver’s seat.
Meanwhile, court documents revealed that the man had been doing drugs. Also, the reporting officer confirmed that he saw foil with burn residue on it and a torch lighter in his lap.
When officers tapped on the window, the man stepped on the gas. Then, he hit several patrol cars with his truck.
Also, an officer drew his firearm, another officer ran out of the way and a third jumped over a wall to avoid the crash.
Reports stated that the driver veered in and out of lanes at 80 mph. Then, he ran red lights and went off and on the freeway. Eventually, a police chopper aided to find the driver.
As the driver reached Price and Warner roads, he failed to yield at a red light. As a result, two people sustained injuries and required further medical assistance. One of them suffered from a fractured pelvis.
Eventually, officers arrested the driver.
