1 Detained after Chula Vista Car Crash on Jamacha Road
CHULA VISTA, CA (January 7, 2020) – Authorities arrested a 42-year-old man after a car crash on Jamacha Road on January 6.
Reports revealed that the man was wanted for two felony warrants. He also escaped a traffic stop and struck his car in the La Presa area.
After 3:45 a.m., the authorities pulled him over for equipment near the intersection of Birch Road and Millenia Avenue, Chula Vista Police Lt. Gino Grippo revealed.
The BMW sedan driver stopped and talked to the officers. He then went off and approached northbound Highway 125 at 100 mph. As he exited Jamacha Road, he lost control of his sedan. It overturned and hit a utility pole on Jamacha Road and Gillespie Drive.
The police arrested the driver on suspicion of felony evading and for two felony warrants, Grippo added.
He sustained injuries in the collision and responders took him to a hospital for evaluation.
