Evening Crash in Huntington Beach Kills 2 and Injures 3
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (July 22, 2019) – A man and a woman were killed following a two-car crash at Beach Boulevard, near Taylor Drive.
A 2012 Volkswagen Passat collided with a red 2007 Honda Fit at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Taylor Drive. Authorities responded to the scene around 9:29 p.m.
The driver of the Honda was identified as a 29-year-old Chino Hills man. His passenger was also identified as a 36-year-old Huntington Beach woman.
Both victims suffered traumatic injuries and were later pronounced dead at the scene. However, their names were not available at this time.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a 25-year-old Huntington Beach man, suffered moderate injuries. He remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Two passengers in the Volkswagen, both Huntington Beach women, ages 18 and 22, also suffered moderate injuries.
The Honda sustained significant damage to its passenger side, while the Volkswagen had major front-end damage.
It is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
