Man Airlifted after Big Rig Crash on Stoddard Wells Road and Interstate 15 [Victorville, CA]

Injuries Reported in Victorville Auto Accident on Stoddard Wells Road and Interstate 15

 
VICTORVILLE, CA (August 10, 2021) – Monday afternoon, a man sustained injuries in a big rig crash on Stoddard Wells Road and Interstate 15.
 
The incident involving an 18-wheeler and a sedan occurred at around 3:26 p.m. Moreover, it happened on Stoddard Wells Road and northbound Interstate 15 off-ramp.
 
According to the CHP incident logs, the occupants in a semi reported that a vehicle was completely underneath the trailer with the driver trapped inside.
 
Thus, crews from the Apple Valley Fire Protection District came to the scene. Then, they found a white 2021 Hyundai Sonata and a 2014 International TranStar 8600 blocking the road.
 
Firefighters utilized the jaws of life to remove a part of the roof and free the male driver. According to reports, the trapped driver remained conscious and alert from the mangled vehicle.
 
Also, the deputies from the Apple Valley Police Department closed the traffic on Stoddard Wells Road as a CHP helicopter landed in the roadway. Then, the helicopter transported the driver to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
 
The California Highway Patrol Victorville Station continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
